Since February of 2011, Beijing Little Bird Mutual-Aid Hotline started the project of training for migrant children and urban integration activity supported by Right to Play. The martial art training for migrant children is one of the project activities.
Little Bird Hotline actively contacted the migrant children’s schools in Beijing and finally chose the Shijingshan Huangzhuang School for Migrant Children to implement the martial art training project, providing martial art training for 40 migrant children for free.
Gao Wei, the staff from Little Bird Hotline says:”This project is started from February of 2011, and it has been implementing for three years. The martial art training is held on every Tuesday and Thursday, and we also provide the training clothes and equipments for them. The coach teaches some basic skills and tricks in Wushu/Martial Art. ”
The aim of holding the martial art training is to let the migrant children have chances to take part in the extracurricular activities to enrich their urban life here. And the most important thing is that it can enhance the migrant children’s confidence through this training activity, letting them grow up happily.
One of the students taken part in this training says:” I like martial art very much, the biggest benefit is that I can improve my health and I want to say “Thank you” to my dearest coach.”
